You're reading: Poroshenko says Ukrainian security services neutralize two groups with ties to international terrorism

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said that representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have neutralized two terrorist groups that have connections with international terrorist groups.

“Ukrainian security services have neutralized two groups, which are suspected of preparing terrorist attacks and have ties with certain international terrorist groups,” the president said at a meeting with security officials on Saturday morning, the press service of the head of state reported.

He said that last night he heard a report from SBU Chief Vasyl Hrytsak concerning the special operation which took place in the anti-terrorist operation area.

The president instructed the heads of relevant departments to ensure increasing coordination with international partners and exchange information about possible terrorist threats.

“It’s not only France but also the UK, the United States, all of our partners and international organizations on combating terrorism.
