The military men, who now are serving in the eastern part of Ukraine, have been instructed to repel the enemy's attacks if any threat to their lives occurs, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

“Ukrainian military men have a firm order in the conditions, when a threat to their life exists, under conditions when they are an object of attack, under extreme necessity to open fire in return. We won’t admit that the enemy could take us by surprise,” the head of state said when opening the meeting of National Security and Defense Council.

Though, the president added that these were just defensive actions, which required in response to militants’ provocations, and if not to take them into account, Ukraine impeccably sticks to peace agreements.
