You're reading: Poroshenko says Zakarpattia region needs drastic personnel reshuffle

A large-scale personnel reshuffle needs to be held in Zakarpattia region due to the fact that local officials and the criminal world have been working together for a long time, Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said.

“Bandits, smugglers and law enforcement agencies have become entangled in Zakarpattia region since the early 1990s and no one has managed to untangle them over the years of independence,” the president said in Uzhgorod on Wednesday when introducing the newly appointed head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal.

Everybody knows, but ignores this fact, Poroshenko said.

“This cannot go on any longer… We need to start immediately, and we need to start with a very serious staff reshuffle,” the president said.
