You're reading: Poroshenko signs law allowing to reinstate lustrated officers

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law on amendments to the law on lustration concerning additional measures to ensure the defensibility of the state, the presidential press service has said on Jan. 31.

As reported, on Jan. 27 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law, which
allows to reinstate officers dismissed as part of lustration.

The law was adopted with the amendments of Andriy Teteruk, which
foresee that the law will be in effect until the adoption of major
amendments to the law on lustration and until the matter concerns the
officers of the Defense Ministry, the General Staff, the National Guard
and the State Border Guard Service.
