Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law abolishing Ukraine's non-aligned status.

“I plan to sign a law called the law on Changes to some legislative acts on
changing the non-aligned status of Ukraine, for which more than the
constitutional majority voted, now, at this press conference,” Poroshenko told a
press conference in Kyiv on Dec. 29.

After that, the president signed the law. Poroshenko said Ukraine will
conduct some reforms to meet the standards of the NATO countries and ‘the people
will decide on the matter” only after that.
