You're reading: Poroshenko signs law to increase Armed Forces’ size to 250,000

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed into law the bill on the strength of the Ukrainian Armed Forces passed by the parliament on March 5. The bill sets the maximum number of Armed Forces personnel at 250,000 with 204,000 of them military servicemen.

The law published on the president’s website said that “the strength of the Armed Forces would grow in special periods with men recruited for military service under mobilization acts.”
