Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called for Ukraine to be granted the prospect of membership of the European Union.
“Tell me, please, who will now … dare to close Europe’s door to Ukraine? Who will be against giving us the prospect of EU membership, to which we are now making the first and most decisive step?” Poroshenko said before the procedure of ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU in the Verkhovna Rada.
He said that this document had been prepared since 2007 and that the European choice had been strongly supported by the Ukrainian people.
