Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said the state budget of Ukraine for 2015 should be passed in the coming days, the press service of the head of state reported.

“It’s time to answer serious challenges that the state is currently facing: the preservation of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence and ensuring the defense of the state… To do this, we need a budget and money. We need to urgently do our best to adopt the budget for 2015,” the president said at a meeting with the leaders of factions of the parliamentary coalition, which was attended by the speaker and the prime minister.

Poroshenko also urged lawmakers to pass the laws that will help create a fair judicial system in Ukraine, noting that he had already submitted to the parliament the bill ensuring the right to a fair trial, which envisages recertification of judges, their competitive appointment, more control over their property and toughening of the disciplinary action.

The president also noted the need to change the law on the prosecutor’s office. “We need fresh blood, we need people that were not involved in years of mutual cover-up,” Poroshenko said.
