Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko suggests that Andriy Deshchytsia, who was dismissed from the post of Ukraine's acting foreign minister, should become Ukraine's ambassador to one of the foreign countries.

“I would like to thank Andriy Bohdanovych Deshchytsia personally. I can say that I asked him to head up one of Ukraine’s foreign diplomatic missions, and he accepted my offer,” Poroshenko said in parliament on June 19, following Deshchytsia’s dismissal from the post of Ukraine’s acting foreign minister.

The president’s remarks caused an uproar in the session hall, with parliamentarians starting to suggest countries where Deshchytsia could serve as Ukraine’s ambassador.

“I would like to ask you not to insist on any particular country. Deshchytsia and I will choose it on our own,” Poroshenko said.
