Most potential buyers of elite property in Kharkiv polled consider the possibility of buying private houses only if they have apartments in downtown Kharkiv or in districts close to downtown.

The data were presented by the Avantazh investment and construction corporation, referring to the results of the study entitled “What are lodging rich Kharkiv residents are ready to buy?” conducted by Defense Agency (both based in Kharkiv) under the order of the corporation.

“Despite the interest om houses, apartments are a top priority type of accommodation. Only those who already have apartments downtown are ready to buy private houses,” reads the report, citing Avantazh Director Yevhen Iosylevych.

He said that two thirds of respondents want to buy private house, 20% – town houses and 10% – only apartments.

However, despite the obvious preference for buying houses, 66% of respondents consider the possibility of buying an elite private house only if they have an apartment downtown Kharkiv, the expert said.

“People do not want to be separated from city life and are eager to be autonomous and stay in calm. The elite property in great demand is property that harmonically combines town and dacha characteristics,” Iosylevych said.

According to the report, 50 representatives of large and medium-sized business in Kharkiv were polled by Defense Agency. A comprehensive interactive interview was used in the poll.

Avantazh has been operating since 1999. It is one of the largest players on the Kharkiv real estate market.

Defense Agency was founded in 2007. It operates in six directions: PR, marketing and sociology, advertisement, design, creation and promotion of Web solutions, and media product production.
