You're reading: Press officer: OSCE monitors come under fire in Donbas, nobody harmed

Members of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine came under militants' fire at their observation point in so-called Sector M (Mariupol) on March 27, Sector M press officer Oleh Sushynsky told Interfax.

“OSCE monitors were shelled near Shyrokyne at about 3:00 p.m. [local time] today. The mission members were fired upon with firearms, and there was also mortar fire. The monitors were at an operational observation point. The shelling started, and they came under fire,” Sushynsky told Interfax.

None of the monitors was harmed in the incident, he said.
