Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych took into account a petition for pardoning jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko from female parliamentarians. 

“The president took into consideration the petition of people’s deputies for pardoning Tymoshenko, which was passed by Lilia Hrynevych, Liudmyla Denisova, Oleksandra Kuzhel, Iryna Lutsenko, and Maria Matios to the presidential administration today. This document has been registered at the presidential administration according to the procedure envisaged by the legislation,” reads the statement.

As reported, more than 20 female parliamentarians signed the petition. More than 100 various petitions for pardoning Tymoshenko have been sent to the president since the ex-premier’s imprisonment.
