You're reading: Price of gas of Norway’s Statoil for Naftogaz totals some $340 per 1,000 cubic meters

National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy at present imports natural gas under a contact with Norway's Statoil at the price of around $340 per 1,000 cubic meters, the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia. Ukraine publication has reported, referring to its sources.

According to the report, around 11 million cubic meters of Norwegian gas is supplied a day to Ukraine now.

Naftogaz Ukrainy traditionally does not comment on the details of the contract in the part of the volumes and price.

A source told-Ukraine Interfax earlier that the head of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolev, visited the Statoil headquarters in Stavanger on Sept. 25.

The first supplies of Norwegian gas were carried out on Oct. 1, the source said. The source said the gas was being supplied via the Slovakia gas corridor at a rate of 12-15 million cubic meters a day.

Later Naftogaz Ukrainy confirmed that a contract has been signed with Norway’s Statoil for the supply of natural gas, and Norwegian gas shipments via Slovakia began on Oct. 1, 2014.
