Yalta - Prices for Ukrainian goods are expected to go down in Crimea after VAT is lifted in accordance with the Ukrainian law on economic operations in Crimea, said Vitaly Nakhlupin, chief of the Crimean State Council's Commission for the Budget, Investment and Financial Policy.

‘When goods are exported from Ukraine, classical customs declarations will be submitted and Ukrainian companies will get the VAT refunded, the entry price for us will be 20 percent below Ukrainian and we will be able to make settlements in several currencies,’ he said at a press conference in Yalta on Oct. 5.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a bill on economic operations in Crimea, passed in August, into law in late September.

‘The Ukrainian side is taking steps to put this law into life,’ Nakhlupin said.
