The new regional Siemens office in Lviv will employ programmers who moved from the closed regional office in Donetsk, the head of the Medical Electronics and Imaging Solutions department, Reiner Jung, has said.

“A year ago we were making the difficult decision whether to stay in Donetsk or move to another city. The need for the move was prompted by the need to protect our employees and members of their families. In summer we realized that the situation in the east will not change quickly and we need to move to another place,” he said.

Jung said that the team of programmers who worked in the Donetsk office moved to Germany, where the specialists continued to work on Siemens Group projects, and early next week they will start working in Lviv.

Siemens-Ukraine opened its branch in Lviv in 2004.

Siemens-Ukraine supplies equipment, technologies and integrated solutions for industrial, energy, transportation, and health care sectors. The company is headquartered in Kyiv, its regional offices operate in Lviv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kryvy Rih, and Mariupol.
