You're reading: Prosecutor demands Yefremov’s arrest, Hr 3 million bail

The Prosecutor's office is demanding that the former head of the Party of Regions faction in the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation, Oleksandr Yefremov, be arrested, with a possible bail of nearly Hr 3 million, Press Secretary of Kyiv Prosecutor Office Olena Yakhno has said.

“The Prosecutor’s Office is asking the court to arrest Yefremov with Hr 3 million bail,” she wrote on her page in Facebook.

As reported, the PGO, jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine, detained the former head of the Party of Regions Oleksandr Yefremov on Feb. 14.

“A special operation was conducted on Saturday, Feb. 14, to detain former head of the Regions Party faction in the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Yefremov, who is suspected of criminal offenses under Part 2 of Article 364 and Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which are abuse of power under aggravating circumstances and forgery,” newly appointed Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin said.
