Prosecutor General's Office preparing request for Yanukovych's extradition

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office is planning to raise the issue of the extradition of internationally wanted Ukrainian citizen Viktor Yanukovych if the report of his being in Russia is confirmed, reads a statement posted on the Web site of the Prosecutor General's Office on Friday. 

The main investigation department of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has declared Yanukovych a suspect in the premeditated mass murder of people committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many persons, on preliminary collusion with a group of persons, as well as abuse of power and office. 

The Kyiv Post is disabling its online comment section due to an increase in trolls, violent comments and other personal attacks. Other news organizations worldwide have taken similar steps for the same reasons. The Kyiv Post regrets having to take this action. The newspaper believes in a robust public debate, but the discussion must be constructive and intelligent. For the time being, the Kyiv Post will allow comments on its moderated Facebook group The newspaper will consider hosting online comments again when circumstances allow.
