Protesters have blocked motor traffic near the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada building in Kyiv, the Kyiv police public relations department said on Aug. 31.

“Activists have parked vehicles on the motorway in the governmental quarters of the capital city and the motor traffic is limited on Hrushevskoho Street between the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada and the House of Officers,” the report said.

The police have warned protesters they will be held liable for blocking the road and are taking measures to restore the traffic.

A number of political forces and public organizations gathered near the Verkhovna Rada building on Monday morning to protest against decentralization amendments to the Ukrainian constitution.
