Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he signed a decree rehabilitating the Crimean peoples who were subject of Stalin-era repressions. "I would like to inform colleagues that I have signed a decree on the rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatar population of Crimea, its Armenian population, Germans, Greek - all those who were affected by Stalin's repressions," Putin told the State Council for national projects and demographic policy on Monday.

The same decree involves socioeconomic improvement of several areas, which were “in recent years, or one can say decades, practically abandoned, with no legal status and absolutely no social development, and only degraded,” the president also said.
