Novo-Ogaryovo - Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he will appoint ex-deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice Admiral Sergei Menyailo, as Sevastopol's acting governor.

 “I support your proposal and I will sign a decree today on Sergei Menyailo’s appointment as Sevastopol’s acting governor,” Putin told Menyailo and the city’s current acting governor Alexei Chaly on April 14.

Menyailo’s appointment to this post was at Chaly’s initiative.
