Russia is hoping that cooperation with Ukraine in the defense sector will not be severed, although supplies are currently not taking place to the full extent, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. "We are hoping that these cooperation ties will not be severed, although we now don't see full shipments. We see decisions made by relevant state structures over the suspension of these shipments," Putin said while meeting with the Legislators' Council in Petrozavodsk.

The decision to inhibit the shipments “was not the decision of our business partners,” he said. “They are perfectly aware of the situation their government has put them into. And I am certain that they want to continue this cooperation,” Putin said.

This inhibition is associated with our Western partners’ idea of applying sanctions towards certain sectors of the Russian economy, primarily, the defense industry, the president said.
