The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is hosting the ceremony to inaugurate newly elected Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Present in the session hall are three Ukrainian presidents – Leonid
Kravchuk, Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yuschenko, as well as all government
officials, and the head of the Constitutional Court.
The meeting is also attended by the leaders of several foreign
countries, in particular, Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania, Alexander
Lukashenko of Belarus, Bronislaw Komorowski of Poland, Swiss President
and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Didier Burkhalter, European Council
President Herman Van Rompuy, diplomats, and the clergy.
A total of 56 delegations arrived for the meeting.
Poroshenko’s spouse and children are also present in the session hall.
The ceremony is broadcasted by almost all Ukrainian TV channels.
