Brussels – The rally in support of Euromaidan took place in Brussels on the Schuman central square outside European institutions.

According to the Belgian police, about 200 people are attending in the rally, of whom the majority are Ukrainians that live in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

Moreover, famous European politicians, such as MEP Pawel Zalewski and Jacek Protasiewicz, are also taking part in the rally.

Earlier it was announced that the popular Ukrainian singer Ruslana Lyzhychko attended just the beginning of the event, which started in another place – Luxembourg Square. As the organizers didn’t ask permission for the demonstration, police asked them to move to another place, where the participants of the rally would not block traffic.

A correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine reported that during the rally people chanted: “Glory to Ukraine!”, “Say No to Dictatorship!”, sang Ukrainian national anthem and delivered speeches to support European integration, against dictatorship, and demanding the imposition of sanctions.

The event was calm and without incident.
