You're reading: Ratification of Ukraine-EU Association Agreement going as scheduled

The Ukrainian presidential administration has reported that the documents on the ratification of the Association Agreement with the European Union are currently at the Foreign Ministry.

“There is no problem with the schedule. In fact, the package is in
the Foreign Ministry, we will wait for its transfer to the presidential
administration, and after the appropriate procedures it will be
submitted to the parliament,” deputy head of the presidential
administration Valeriy Chaly said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday, July 30.

According to him, at present, the national program of implementation
of the Association Agreement is being prepared, some clauses of which
are to be passed by the Ukrainian parliament as a bill.

“I think that this bill may be prepared shortly after the examination
by our European partners. I suggested at a meeting of the parliamentary
committee on the European integration that not only our partners should
see it, but members of the parliament, as well,” Chaly said adding that
this bill may be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada as a package together
with the ratification of the Association Agreement.

In addition, the deputy head of the presidential administration said
that the preparations for an international donor conference were
currently held in Kyiv. “After all, in a difficult financial climate we
need resources that will enable us to implement the clauses of the
Association Agreement speedily enough,” he said.
