The head of the Russian Red Cross, Raisa Lukutsova, discussed cooperation between the Russian Red Cross and the ICRC with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Europe and Central Asia, Laurent Corbaz, in Moscow on Aug.20.

“We discussed cooperation between the Russian Red Cross and the ICRC
across all areas of activity. We did not discuss the Ukrainian topic,”
Lukutsova told Interfax after the meeting.

“We did not discuss the humanitarian convoy or some projects in
south-eastern Ukraine. We discussed general issues relating to our
cooperation. We have a joint program. All other questions should be
referred directly to the ICRC,” she said.

Earlier Lukutsova said that Corbaz had arrived in Russia specifically
to discuss the delivery of humanitarian aid to east Ukraine.

She also stated that the main issue at her meeting with Corbaz would
be cooperation between the Russian and Ukrainian Red Cross Societies in
southeast Ukraine and the advancement of the humanitarian convoy.
