Ukrainian Party of Regions and Communist parliamentarians have decided not to attend the evening session of Verkhovna Rada on Thursday in sign of their protest against the ongoing security operation in the southeast of the country.

“Today we have no moral right to pass any laws unless we stop the
bloodshed. This is why we walked out of the session room because it is
impossible to work under such conditions,” said Petro Symonenko, the
Communist faction leader.

Party of Regions faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov said at the
morning plenary session that “working in the session room in such a
situation is the height of hypocrisy, and we are leaving the room.”

There is no effective voting in the session room at this moment.
