Report: Gunmen recapture Kramatorsk police department headquarters

Unidentified gunmen recaptured the police department headquarters in Kramatorsk, a city in Ukraine's Donetsk region, the city Web site reported on Monday. 

"The police chief, Vitaliy Kolupai, was taken away in an unknown direction. The gunmen demanded weapons," the Web site said.

Reports said earlier that following an exchange of fire with policemen, unidentified gunmen seized the city police department building in Kramatorsk. Windows were smashed on several floors and office equipment was looted, according to some sources.

The Kyiv Post is disabling its online comment section due to an increase in trolls, violent comments and other personal attacks. Other news organizations worldwide have taken similar steps for the same reasons. The Kyiv Post regrets having to take this action. The newspaper believes in a robust public debate, but the discussion must be constructive and intelligent.
