The Interfax-Ukraine News Agency – a company belonging to the Interfax Information Services international group – has been an information provider in the political and economic information market of Ukraine since 1992.

Unidentified gunmen recaptured the police department headquarters in Kramatorsk, a city in Ukraine's Donetsk region, the city Web site reported on Monday.

"The police chief, Vitaliy Kolupai, was taken away in an unknown direction. The gunmen demanded weapons," the Web site said.

Reports said earlier that following an exchange of fire with policemen, unidentified gunmen seized the city police department building in Kramatorsk. Windows were smashed on several floors and office equipment was looted, according to some sources.
