You're reading: Reports of US-made weapons used by Ukraine have to be investigated, says Lavrov

Reports on finding weapons produced in the United States in Ukraine should be investigated, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

Storehouses with ammunition and weapons, produced in the U.S. and found in Ukraine, were shown on television several days ago and Moscow would like this to be investigated, Lavrov said in an interview with the RT TV channel.

Reports came on finding several hundred employees of the Greystone private military organization, who arrived in Ukraine from the U.S., and several reports came that foreigners were involved in some incidents – this should be investigated as well, the minister said.

Moscow has raised these issues with the U.S. authorities, who say that they are not aware of this and that they got in touch with Greystone, which denied this, Lavrov said. However, Moscow would like to be certain who does what because, if I am to speak in diplomatic language, too many distortions of reality have occurred, the minister said.

The U.S. circulates fake photographs, which allegedly confirm Russia’s involvement in the events in Ukraine, Lavrov said.

The only concrete thing and the only reference Americans made along with fake computer images they circulate everywhere is the fact that people used Russian weapons, the minister said.

However everyone uses Russian light weapons and this is not reprehensible, Lavrov said.
