Russia has suggested that the UN Security Council should adopt a statement calling for a ceasefire in Ukraine for the period of the humanitarian operation.
“We are calling on the parties involved in the conflict to declare a ceasefire for the period of this operation and we suggest that the UN Security Council adopt an appropriate statement. We are hoping all members of the international community will back further actions on easing the humanitarian situation in the south-eastern regions of Ukraine,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
