You're reading: Russia hoping to formalize Milan agreements at three-sided meeting in Brussels

Brussels - At a meeting between Russia, Ukraine and the EU in Brussels on Tuesday, Oct. 21 Russia is hoping to formalize gas agreements reached during last week's talks with Ukraine in Milan, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told journalists.

“Agreements were reached in Milan, and we are hoping on formalizing them today,” he said as he was leaving for the three-sided talks.

“Expectations are positive. We are set on constructively resolving the conflict, and accordingly, on carrying out the agreements that were reached in Milan,” Novak said.

Vice President of the European Commission for Energy Gunther Oettinger is already at the EC.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller arrived to the EC earlier, but he did not speak with journalists.
