The Ukrainian State Border Service has been officially notified about the November 30 humanitarian convoy from Russia and is ready to clear the cargo.

“We have been officially notified by a note the Russian Foreign Ministry sent to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. In addition, I have received a letter from the senior Russian border representative saying that another so-called humanitarian convoy is due to cross the Donetsk-Izvaryne and Matveyev Kurgan checkpoints on [November] 30,” Ukrainian State Border Service Director Viktor Nazarenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Nov. 28.

“We are ready for its official clearance in accordance with the requirements of international and Ukrainian laws…. If not, we will do the monitoring at both checkpoints,” he said.

Nazarenko said he did not know whether the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) might be involved in the humanitarian convoy project.

“We are expecting a correct procedure consistent with international and Ukrainian laws,” Nazarenko underlined.
