You're reading: Russia to deliver 70 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Moscow, June 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian Emergencies Ministry will provide humanitarian assistance to flood-stricken Ukraine at the request of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

"It is planned that about 70 tonnes of humanitarian aid will be delivered to Ukraine’s western regions on board two Il-76 planes of the Emergencies Ministry," Emergencies Ministry spokeswoman Irina Andrianova told reporters.

The humanitarian cargo consists of power generators, blankets, water, and tents.

"The humanitarian cargo is to be loaded into the aircraft on Thursday," she said.
