You're reading: Russian airlines transported more than 1 million people to Crimea this summer

Moscow - Russian airlines transported 1.185 million people to Crimea and back during the three summer months, statistics of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) said. 

In June, Russian airliners completed 2,372 flights, on which 296,000 people were transported. In July the number of passengers flying to Crimea and back increased to 484,500, and the number of flights that month amounted to 3,400. Despite the fact that August is not yet over, transport patterns in this month demonstrated that the popularity of this destination continued to grow. From August 1 to August 28, Russian airlines transported 528,340 people

In all from March of this year [the month of Crimea’s joining Russia] Russian airlines have transported 1.567 million people to this destination, including 826,900 people to Simferopol and 740,000 from Simferopol.
