Unknown armed persons overnight into May 5 illegally entered the territory of Luhansk Poultry Farm LLC (the village of Chervony Prapor, Luhansk Oblast) that belongs to Avangard agroholding, Ukraine's largest egg producer.

“The seizers said that they plan to nationalize the farm and restore production that was halted in November 2014. This was announced to the farm’s employees,” the press service of Avangard reported.

The agro-holding said that it does not control the territory of the farm and it has no access to warehouses, machinery and the logistics complex.

Militants of Luhansk People’s Republic are responsible for possible damage of the company’s production facilities and buildings located close to the farm.

“We believe that it is impossible to nationalize private property by anyone, in particular, by illegal armed terrorist groups and it is impossible to use the territory of the farm to place military equipment,” the company said.

As reported, in 2014 Avangard decided to close the poultry farms Chervony Prapor and Interbusiness (the village of Berestove, Donetsk Oblast) due to the tense situation in the region. Each farm had 1.5 million birds, which accounted for 10 percent of the total poultry numbers.
