Luhansk – Deputies of Luhansk City Council have declared Russian a regional language in the city. 

According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, 58 deputies of the city council that were present at the sitting unanimously approved the decision.

The deputies noted at the sitting that 95% of the population on Luhansk said that Russian is their native language during a census in 2001.
