Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb said they supported independent and objective investigation of the Malaysian Boeing crash in Ukraine.

The two prime ministers spoke on the telephone on July 24 upon the
Finnish initiative, the Russian government press office told Interfax.

“Having offered condolences to families and friends of those killed
in the Malaysian plane crash in the Ukrainian air space, Medvedev and
Stubb stated common understanding that the catastrophe is most awful
tragedy, and independent and objective investigation without any
pressure on the inquiry should be held,” the press office said.

Issues of the Russian-Finnish relations and cooperation between
Russia and the European Union were discussed during the conversation.
Russia is interested in continuing relevant consultations and contacts
on these issues, the press office said.
