Russia is prepared to continue gas negotiations with the European Commission and Ukraine after Ukraine has settled debt, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told a press conference following the latest round of talks in Brussels.

“We’ve discussed things today and agreed that further meetings are contingent on the sides seeing some sort of progress, and payments,” Novak said.

“We’re prepared to meet on any day up to June 16,” he said.

Novak also said that Russia proposes to provide a discount of $100 per thousand cubic meters of gas to Ukraine, backed by government decisions. He said the price for Ukraine would be $384.86 with the discount.
