Russian opposition leader's Twitter gets hacked

MOSCOW — A Russian opposition leader says his Twitter and email accounts have been hacked.

 Alexei Navalny's quarter of a million Twitter followers on Tuesday found abusive messages pouring from his account.

Navalny linked the hackings to his personal computer and iPad being seized by police in a raid on his apartment on June 11.

The 36-year-old opposition leader has been at the forefront of the anti-Putin protests. His home and office were raided and he was interrogated several times as part of a probe into the violence at an opposition rally on May 6.

His spokewoman, Anna Veduta, said Tuesday that Navalny hopes to regain access to his accounts.
