DONETSK - A decision on the accreditation of a UN humanitarian mission to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic has yet to be made, Donetsk People's Republic People's Council Chairman, negotiator in Minsk Denys Pushylin said.

“The meeting with Mr. O’Brien lasted for 1.5 hours and was very productive. We discussed humanitarian problems and the need to accredit humanitarian missions in the territory of the republic – why there is such a need, what options we have and why this is necessary,” Pushylin told reporters on Nov. 6, answering a question about the meeting with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Stephen O’Brien.

He noted that the problem of accreditation of the UN humanitarian mission had not been fully resolved.

“Unfortunately, the problem has not been fully resolved in the humanitarian area. Humanitarian aid must be distributed and accounted for in a precise manner, under the full control of the government. The Restorations Management Center is directly contributing to that and the chaotic activity that was admissible at the beginning of the formation of the state is no long admissible to us,” the Donetsk People’s Republic parliament speaker said.

“We tried to discuss what was hindering the accreditation of the UN in our territory and agreed on further interaction within the rules recommended in the head’s decree,” Pushylin said.
