Russian Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov has met with Ukrainian Communist Party leader Petro Symonenko in Moscow on April 3, the Russian Communist party reported on its website.

Zyuganov expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian Communist Party and the people of Ukraine and said the Russian Communist Party is ready to work with its Ukrainian colleagues on overcoming the crisis in Ukraine. The meeting participants reached an agreement on the coordination of the activities by the Communist Parties of Russia and Ukraine.

Symonenko, who is running for president in Ukraine, told Zyuganov about the situation in Ukraine and the start of the election race. He gave special attention to the work of the Ukrainian Communist Party and the tasks of its divisions in the regions.
