Lviv - More than 400,000 people have visited Euro 2012 facilities in Lviv during the matches of the Euro 2012 group stage, Lviv Mayor said Andriy Sadovy has said.

“410,000 people have visited Euro 2012 facilities over three matches –
almost 100,000 in the stadium and about 310,000 people in the fan
zone,” he said at a press conference in Lviv on Monday.

He said that fans celebrated Germany’s reaching the quarterfinals in the city center until the early morning.

Sadovy said that thanks to Euro 2012 matches, Lviv “has received a
great impetus to the further development of the tourism business” and
that the Euro 2012 department would deal with this.

“We don’t have to stop. We need to move forward, taking into account
the positive opinion about Lviv from fans and the Western press. From
now on no one will ask what the city it is, and where it is located.
Many tourists who planned to stay in our city for a day decided to stay
for a few more days, because they really liked it,” he said.
