The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted certain procedural actions with a journalist from the Ukrainska Pravad online newspaper as part of investigating a criminal case on terrorist attacks in Dnipropetrovsk.

“The SBU states that all procedural actions with respect to this
citizen were carried out in accordance with the law,” the SBU press
center told Interfax-Ukraine.

The SBU said that these actions concerned the investigation into a
criminal case on terrorist attacks in Dnipropetrovsk and that the
journalist had no procedural status in this case.

The chief editor of Ukrainska Pravda, Olena Prytula, wrote in her
blog on Friday that according to the editorial office, surveillance over
one of the journalists was being conducted and that his phone
conversations were being tapped.

“Surveillance is likely related to the journalist’s attempt to get in
touch with the relatives of those arrested by the SBU as suspects in
the organization of April explosions in Dnipropetrovsk,” the newspaper
said.
