Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaichenko has expressed hope that under rulings of Ukrainian courts finances removed to some European countries and the United States by former Ukrainian officials will be returned to Ukraine.

‘Money is frozen and arrested on the territory of Switzerland, Austria, the United States and other country. The future process is only one: the world recognizes only court rulings, and under the rulings of Ukrainian courts the money stolen, removed, laundered or taken by other means from Ukraine will be returned,’ he said in an interview with the 112. Ukraine TV channel.

He said that the money was also removed by former Ukrainian officials to the territory of Russia.

‘We would be very interested in applying the rulings of Ukrainian courts in Russia on the return of cash removed by trucks, according to our grounded investigation. The funds were stolen from those credits the Russian government had issued,’ he said.

Nalyvaichenko said that the return of funds to Ukraine is not restricted to the European countries and the United States.
