You're reading: Search party continues to collect wreckage on Malaysian Boeing crash site in Ukraine

Experts collecting debris from the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 shot down in Donetsk region continued their work on Tuesday morning, Nov. 18, the OSCE special monitoring mission tweeted.

The mission said it was providing the experts’ access to the crash site.

Human remains were found by members of the Dutch repatriation mission on Monday, Nov. 17. The remains will be taken to Kharkiv for a forensic examination. They will be shipped to the Netherlands later for a further identity check.

The Dutch Safety Board expects the work to be completed within five days or so if the conditions the search party is operating under do not deteriorate.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 en route from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17. Tentative outcomes of the tests conducted by Dutch specialists showed that the plane had been hit by numerous solid objects.

The crash claimed the lives of all 298 people onboard.
