The second group of OSCE monitors, who are now in Severodonetsk, may be released soon, a source in the government of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, told Interfax on June 27.
“The monitors are now in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region. They are
under the control of independent field commanders. We have to negotiate
the monitors’ release with them. I think they will be released in the
nearest future. I will be very happy if it happens tomorrow,” the source
said.
The source said the monitors are being treated well.
“Their living conditions are good. They get food, drinks, treatment
(if necessary), and they can even use a bathhouse, which they like very
much,” the source said.
According to earlier reports, the first group of OSCE monitors, who
went missing in the Donetsk region on May 26, was released in the early
hours of Friday. It comprises citizens of Switzerland, Estonia, Turkey,
and Denmark. Communication with the second group, which has four
members, was lost in the Luhansk region on May 29.
