You're reading: Security Service of Ukraine: Russia officials coordinated group which planned to blow up Kyiv recruitment office

PYATYKHATKY - Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Chief Vasyl Hrytsak has said that a saboteur group which intended to set off an explosion at a recruitment office in Kyiv on Defender's Day of Ukraine was coordinated by Russian security officials.

Hrytsak said that this is the second sabotage group recently arrested in the capital after another groups was detained during an attempt to blow up a volunteer center in Obolonsky district.

“The operation on arresting (the saboteurs) was held during the passage of the explosive materials,” Hrytsak said at a press conference in the village of Pyatykhatky of Kyiv region on Oct. 10.

According to him, citizens of Ukraine were arrested as a result of nine searches.

When asked who had instructed the second group, the Security Service of Ukraine chief said: “Their leader sits in Russia, but the coordinators are here, on site.”
