You're reading: Sevastopol head appoints acting prosecutor

 The chairman of the coordinating council on creating control over the life support of Sevastopol, Oleksiy Chaly, appointed Borys Kolesnikov as the city's acting prosecutor on Wednesday.

 “With the aim to represent public prosecution in court, to represent
public interests in court in cases established by the law, to oversee
compliance with the law by the authorities in charge of investigation,
interrogation, and pre-trial investigation, to oversee compliance with
the law during the enforcement of court rulings in criminal cases and
the enforcement of other compulsory measures associated with restriction
of an individual’s personal freedom, B.D. Kolesnikov is hereby
appointed as acting prosecutor of the city of Sevastopol,” according to
Chaly’s order N11 of March 5, which has been posted on the coordinating
council’s official website.

Earlier Chaly signed Order N 7 of March 3 setting up a city
prosecutor’s office and appointing Ihor Pilat as Sevastopol’s acting
prosecutor.

However, Pilat was removed from the position as early as Wednesday under Chaly’s Order N 10.
