The Ukrainian army's positions in eastern Ukraine came under fire more than once last night, and several Airborne Troops soldiers were injured in a landmine explosion, the army operation's press center said on its Facebook account on Nov. 7.

“Seven paratroopers sustained injuries as a result of a landmine explosion that occurred during search and assault efforts near the village of Sokolniki in Luhansk Oblast,” the press center said.

Units of the Ukrainian army stationed near the village of Krymske were repeatedly attacked with BM-21 Grad multiple-launch rocket systems last night, and the army’s checkpoint in this area came under mortar fire more than once, it said. Ukrainian soldiers responded by carrying out artillery strikes against militia-controlled positions.

The situation around Donetsk airport remains tense, but the Ukrainian army still controls the site, the press center said.

The Ukrainian army’s checkpoints and observation posts near Mayorsk, Debaltseve and Popasna came under fire, and an army unit stationed north of Talakivka was attacked last night as well, the press center said.
