You're reading: Shipments of prepaid gas from Gazprom to Ukraine ending March 31

The $15 million advance made a week ago for shipments of Russian gas to Ukraine will be exhausted on March 31 not April 1-2 as previously expected, Gazprom told Interfax.

In addition, Gazprom has not yet received prepayment for gas, Gazprom’s official representative Sergei Kupriyanov told Interfax.

Ukraine’s national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy normally receives 10 million cubic meters of gas per day from the East, but Ukraine imported 15 million cubic meters on March 27 and 17 million cubic meters on March 29, according to data from gas transport operator Ukrtransgaz. This means that supplies will run out by the end of March and the so-called “winter package” will end.
