You're reading: Shkiriak: Third Russian ‘aid convoy’ arrived in Donetsk empty

A third Russian 'aid convoy' that arrived in Donetsk on Sept. 20, according to the latest reports, was empty, an advisor to the Ukrainian interior minister, Zorian Shkiriak, has said.

‘This convoy differs from the others that it had unprecedented protection ensured by Russian servicemen, whereas representatives of the self-proclaimed formations DPR and LPR were not admitted to the convoy,’ he told Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday.

He said that the area in Donetsk, where the convoy arrived, had been completely cordoned off and that the local population had not been involved in receiving ‘humanitarian assistance.’
